Yeah, I know it’s only 27 seconds. Well, you can’t exactly complain I’m taking up too much of your time, huh?
But here’s the thing. This monstrosity you continue to allow to play president and policymaker and war lord of the USA is taking the most fundamentally American institution out for an abuse ride tomorrow. And what is it any of the regular goons you listen to or watch are gonna say that is gonna make that better or make you better informed?
The United States Army, whatever you think of its actions when it is commanded by idiots—and that is way too often—is as fundamentally an American, democratic, diverse, merit-based, and equal-opportunity organization as there is. Or it was that until Trump took over. We have spoken before about how back during the Civil War, the United States integrated the federal army over the objections of the profoundly racist majority in Washington DC, because they needed men. And when black folks came to fight, the USA got men—men who were anxious as hell to kill those damned Confederate traitors—you know the traitors whose names Donald Trump was so anxious to put back on all those Army forts the other day.
Now, yeah, technically, they dug around till they could find non-Confederate people whose names exactly matched those of the Confederate generals the forts were originally named after. But that is like all the other bullshit Donald Trump peddles. He knows that in the heads of the racists that wanted the forts renamed BACK to the Confederate original, they’ll know the secret decoder-ring scam of the renaming—it’s all about maintaining the link to the Confederate generals while allegedly undercutting the criticism they are wallowing in their giant pool of nostalgic white supremacy.
Anyway, as you may know, tomorrow Trump is celebrating the Army’s 250th birthday with a big militaristic parade in Washington D.C., with himself as the centerpiece, because it is also coincidentally Trump’s birthday—and you know whose birthday matters more to Trump.
Saturday's parade also falls on Trump's 79th birthday, and when it ends near the White House, the Army's Golden Knights parachute team will present him with an American flag, after which he'll administer the constitutional oath to Army enlistees.—ABC News
And:
Bernie Sanders (on X, which I will not link to): “We all like to enjoy a nice birthday party. But most of us don't celebrate with a $45 million taxpayer-funded military parade.”
As you know, my policy is to make Trump speak the truth, whether he wants to or not.
Thus, the 27 seconds.
Enjoy. Or something.
